32" wide, $4,100.00 CAD
Hand formed copper horse full of spirit and accurately capturing the very expressive movement of the horse. Mane, head, tail and legs are hand formed in porcelain without the use of molds so each piece is created individually. The sculpture is permanently mounted on the live edge Canadian ash table which is custom made for this sculpture. It is 32" wide and 34" tall. The tapered and hinged ash legs fold flat for shipping.
The artwork is a sculptural piece depicting a horse in motion, elegantly crafted with a combination of wire and porcelain to denote its mane and legs. The use of wire skillfully captures the fluidity and dynamic movement of the horse, giving the sculpture an energetic and lively essence. The choice of materials and the open framework created by the wire allow for a sense of weightlessness, evoking freedom and grace.
The artistic choice to represent only the outline of the horse, rather than a full-bodied depiction, is a bold one. This technique effectively emphasizes movement and speed, allowing the viewer's imagination to fill in the details. The white porcelain adds contrast and liveliness, guiding the viewer's eyes along the lines of motion, especially through the flowing mane and legs.
This piece masterfully utilizes negative space, which not only contributes to the dynamic composition but also encourages observers to engage actively with the artwork by interpreting the missing elements. This interactive visual dialogue invites contemplation and emphasizes the artistic flair in capturing the essence of a horse in motion.
Overall, this sculpture is a compelling study of movement, form, and the beauty of minimalism. It captures the imagination and incites a sense of wonder, reinforcing the notion that art is a deeply personal and subjective experience that resonates differently with each viewer.
